New Wine

from $20.00

“New Wine” all started with the vision of the church, graciously opening its double doors to the people and rolling out a magnificent red carpet, inviting those outside to step into its embrace.

Above, the sky parted, unveiling an open heaven with radiant light cascading down the landscape.

I couldn’t help but notice a cloud shaped like a dove near the steeple, reminding me of His divine presence.

Originally, when I began to paint, I painted a green springtime landscape, but as I finished the sky, I just knew it needed to be snowy instead.

As I began to paint the snow, I started to understand why… the symbolism.

Although the external surroundings appeared bleak and frozen, the warm light from the church began to glow, drawing us in, and beckoning us closer.

In the last stage of this painting, the red carpet itself morphed into a flowing river of wine! Its reach extended far beyond what the carpet alone could accomplish, seeping into the snow-covered landscape with transformative power.

Holy Spirit reminded me of two significant scriptures:

Matthew 9:17
“17 Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

John 2:10
10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink, but you have saved the best till now.”

I believe with all my heart that this painting portrays a scene of divine transformation— both physical and spiritual — ready to burst out in our lives.

In its essence, “New Wine” is a reminder that no matter what the situation outside may look like, God himself will make all things new! He wants us to step into this newness — a fresh flow of His grace, peace, and joy.
